Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC), has been awarded the Uptime Institute Tier III Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability for its largest sustainable data centre at The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) Solar Park - the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the Independent Power Producer. The award was presented by Mustapha Louni, Senior Vice President, IMEA & SAPAC Regions, Uptime Institute to Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman, Digital & Group CEO of Digital DEWA on the sidelines of GITEX Global 2023, that takes place from 16th to 20th October at Dubai World Trade Centre

The Tier Certification of Operational Sustainability is a holistic assessment of staffing and organization practices, maintenance and operations activities, and management and planning - aligned with business objectives of risk reduction, reduced downtime, and operational efficiency. Achieving the award ensures operations are in alignment with performance requirements and availability expectations to support the business goals.

“It is an honour that our commitment to excellence and sustainability has been recognized with the prestigious Uptime Institute Tier III Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability. This achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to not only meeting the high standards of data center operations but also contributing to the broader mission of enhancing operational efficiency. At Moro Hub, we continue to pave the way for a sustainable digital future, setting new standards in the industry. This recognition is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence and leading the charge in the era of sustainable data solutions,” said Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman, Digital & Group CEO of Digital DEWA

Following the Operational Sustainability Standards can help to avoid expending more resources than necessary and demonstrates to stakeholders and the market the effectiveness of the facility’s management practices and risk mitigation.  The Gold Certification illustrates that Moro Hub’s data centre is operated and managed to the fullest potential.

“We are pleased to award Moro Hub with the Uptime institute Tier III Gold Certification of Operational Sustainability for the organization’s largest sustainable data centre, clearly demonstrating their commitment to quality, leadership and sustainability.” said Mustapha Louni, Senior Vice President, IMEA & SAPAC Regions, Uptime Institute. “This facility provides sustainable, responsible, green leadership to the IT industry at large, and we are confident that this facility will support the country's sustainable economic growth for years to come."

The Tier III Gold Certified Green Data Centre offers digital products and services using Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as cloud services, IoT and AI. The services provided by Moro Hub are in alignment with Dubai's 10X initiative, which aims to position the emirate 10 years ahead of other cities worldwide.
