Moro inks MoU with Roambee to provide region with IoT

“Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC” (Moro), a fully-owned subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with “Roambee”, a global leader in asset monitoring which is located in the Silicon Valley, USA to provide the region with Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions, where this collaboration comes as a part of DEWA’s endeavours to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions in the public and private sectors across the region.

This memorandum was signed at Moro’s and DEWA’s joint stand during “GITEX Technology Week 2019”, where it was signed by and between Mohammad Bin Suliman, the CEO of Moro and Adli Dehelia, Vice President and Managing Director of Roambee META Region.

This memorandum aimed at furthering collaboration between both parties to provide the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain with IoT Solutions, and to create a platform that strengthens Partnerships. Such endeavours will contribute to reinforcing Moro’s position in the field of “managing and monitoring assets” in both, the cold-chain sector and the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Taking this opportunity, H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DWEA and Chairman of Moro, said: “We at DEWA seek, through Moro, to redefine service-delivery organizations in order to shape a new digital future for Dubai, as this would be in keeping with the initiative of “Smart Dubai” launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to transform Dubai into the world's smartest and happiest city. As such, we are working towards broadening our partnership base by partnering with leading international solution providers. Proceeding from this position, we have entered into a strategic partnership with “Roambee”, which take part in our efforts to develop “Moro Asset Management Platform” by providing us with cutting-edge IoT solutions. We also look forward to making “Moro” the preferred choice and destination for public and private companies operating in such field, whether regionally or internationally. Furthermore, we are doing the utmost efforts to make it the leading provider of data centre service, cloud services and digital services.

Eng. Marwan Bin Haider, the Vice Chairman of Moro, stressed the need to join forces to develop and upgrade specialized data centres, an objective of which “Moro”, is working towards. “We, at Moro, are making every effort to adopt cutting-edge solutions and technologies in order to realize and keep pace with the vision of our wise leadership and to provide easily accessible smart services. As such, we are working to strengthening the foundations of innovation and creativity in order to enhance the UAE and Dubai’s leadership position as a role model for countries which put prosperity and happiness of their citizens at the top of their priorities.”, Bin Haider added.

“Through this partnership with “Roambee”, Moro will provide outstanding services to customers in both, the cold-chain sector and the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, as an endeavour to help them reduce operational cost and ensure business continuity”, said Bin Haider.

Adli Dehelia, the managing director of Roambee META region, explained Roambee’s strategy of building strong partnership with leading regional digital providers such as Moro that can provide local expertise and utilize existing infrastructure and sales experience to increase the footprint of Roambee solutions and use cases. Adli also stressed on the importance of Dubai in adopting leading edge technologies before expanding to the rest of the middle east. The unique business model of Roambee makes the IoT Technology affordable and manageable for large enterprises and SMEs enabling them to fully test the technology faster before rolling it out on a bigger scale.
